Alert: EXPERT CONSULTANT TRAINING NEW: The is accepting applications for expert consultants/practice monitors Expert Consultant Training Scheduled for: February 9, 2016 (Sacramento) Application deadline:  January 15, 2016   The is continually enhancing its enforcement program, and is seeking people interested in participating as expert consultants and/or practice monitors. An expert consultant reviews complaints from the public and submits a written report of their conclusion back to the Board. In order to serve as an expert consultant, you must: 1. Hold a current and valid license to practice physical therapy in California 2. Have at least five years’ work experience in clinical practice 3. Scam artists are identifying themselves as Physical Therapy Board staff members or investigators. The licensee is told that they are under investigation or their license is in peril, and the scammer demands personal information or money to resolve it. The callers may be “spoofing” a Physical Therapy Board telephone number to make the calls appear to be coming from us. The Physical Therapy Board will never contact licensees by phone to demand money or personalized information. Please also consider the following: NEVER disclose any personal information, i.e. social security numbers, date of births, or credit/debit card numbers to someone who calls you. If you do receive a call of this nature, contact the Physical Therapy Board directly at (916) 561-8200 or TDD (800) 326-2297 to inquire if there’s a valid, official reason for it.
